We would like everyone to read the following research reports and articles. These are thoughts we would appreciate if everyone would contemplate and, more importantly, act upon. Miss Wendy’s instincts and collaborations with educators in schools have driven this project’s research for over 15 consecutive years. While working with children Wendy has sought to study what children like to draw, how high could the subject content get when she asked them to draw, and how fast could they keep up with drawing instruction by the end of second grade. Our evidence is seen, in the student work of weekly lessons, throughout this website.
Below are samples from a kindergarten group that Wendy worked with, taken in January. These flipbooks showcase the abilities of children to write and draw, using the DCIR approach.
